Words From Peacher Joe
I read this morning an article from the Lewis Center called “The Wisdom of the Ants.” I found the article very interesting. The article states that ants or bees are not smart creatures on their own. It is the colony that is smart. One ant can’t accomplish a lot. But when together they find the path or the food they line up and all do their part to accomplish the task at hand.
Many times a high school will have a strong football team and win several championships. We might assume every player is excellent. Together they can work to win. No one or two alone can do it. Very few of those players will win football scholarships and only seldom if ever will one of those players end up in the NFL.
The team's success began in middle school or even sooner as players learned to work together. They learned the importance of leadership and following. They learned to follow the direction of the coach. Then and only then could they be successful.
In the church we must have the same vision, goals and team values. It isn’t about the pastor or any leader. It is about the team/the church family working together with many more workers than bosses. Then we can accomplish what God has called the church to be and do.
Paul said, “Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine…” Ephesians 3:20.
