About Us
Middlesettlements United Methodist Church was founded in 1796. It is one of the oldest churches in East TN. The history within the middlesettlements community is rich and very interesting.
Our church is made up of some of the most caring Christian people. We know we are biased on that, but none-the-less sincere. We would love to talk to you more about our church. Go to the "Contact Us" page on this website and drop us a note.

Disciples: Several of our members share the teaching responsibilities. We like to meet several times a year outside of church for dinner and to enjoy each others company.
Rose Marie: Average attendance of the class is about 25 members/guests/visitors ranging from 40 to 60 years of age. The class, named in memory of Rose Marie Bryant, uses the Bible and other Christian resources in learning the truths and principles of the Scriptures and how to apply them to our lives. It has been said that if you don’t know where you are going, then any road will take you there. The goal of the Rose Marie class is to know not only where we are going, but to take the right road to get there. We care about each other and offer support and comfort whenever we know there is a need. We will laugh with you, cry with you and keep your special needs on our prayer list. Anyone and everyone is welcome. Members rotate as teachers.
Blanche: This adult class, ages fifty and up, is named in honor of Mary Blanche Brown. The Methodist Bible Study Guide is used to assist in further study of the Scriptures. Class volunteers take turns as teachers.
Friendship: This class of senior citizens and retirees uses the Methodist Bible Study Guide to further study the scriptures. The class is taught by Jim Gregg.
Royce: Age range is 65 upward but welcome folks of ANY age to join us. At one time our membership consisted of those from the Rev. Vertrue Sharp Class, the (Rev. Bill) Smeltzer Class, currently the Friendship Class...but we expanded to the extent that we were obliged to divide. Our Class was re-named "The Royce Class," in memory of Royce "Pill" Love who died at the age of 43, on
